Tips for Sealing Fountains

This page contains tips for sealing fountains. This will be updated as more methods of sealing fountains are discovered.

Traditional Method

The traditional method of sealing fountains requires a human soul. However, if you are not a human, you can still help by accompaning a human on their journey to help them. The steps for sealing a fountain this was are:

  1. Go into the fountain. This will bring you to the dark world.
  2. Find the source of the fountain in the dark world.
  3. Use your human soul to seal the fountain.

Some of the darkners in the dark world may attack you. These fights can usually be ended peacefully. Try not to kill any darkners, because if you kill a darkner those types of darkner won't get recruited to Castle Town, and they'll be lost. Titans are an exception, since they are evil and cannot be recruited.

No special equipment is required for this method, but it is recommended to bring some armor to protect you in case you get attacked.

Fountain-Sealing Sword

Seen in this post, the Fountain-sealing sword is a way that anyone can seal fountains, regardless of if they have a human soul. To use it, hold the sword near the fountain. The sword will absorb the darkness, and expel it as light energy, closing the fountain. It is unknown whether the darkners in the dark world get recruited to Castle Town when this method is used. More testing is needed.

Atrificial Souls

Multiple members of GFS have managed to create artifical souls. Although none of them have released their methods for doing so, they prove that it is possible. If you lack a human soul, an artificial soul could still allow you to seal fountains in the traditional method or any other method requiring a soul.

More methods

We are still working on finding new ways to seal fountains. With the at which speed these new methods are being discovered, there are too many to add all of them to this website. You can find more methods on the Reddit. However, certain methods may be added in the future if they seem particularly useful for large-scale use beyond a few people.
